Caroline Anderson

My name is Caroline (she/her/hers) and I am in my second year Counseling Masters program at Northwestern University. I have a keen interest in working with adolescents and adults and I typically apply an eclectic blend of therapeutic interventions. I believe that care should grow and evolve with the client and their needs. Some of the interventions I utilize include Psychodynamic, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Emotion Focused Therapy (ETF), Narrative Therapy, Family Systems Therapy (individual), Solution Focused (short and long-term), Person Centered and so much more.

I believe in fostering a safe and welcoming environment for clients of all backgrounds and intersectional identities. I believe that one of the most impactful aspects of counseling is often when a client feels heard or understood, therefore I make it my mission to make my clients feel safe and welcome in every way possible. I provide person centered counseling practices and value mutual respect in the counseling space above all else. I believe that my clients are the professionals when it comes to their identities and experiences, and that it's my job as their counselor not to direct them but to guide them to meet the goals they set.

​I love to lead every session with unconditional positive regard and empathy. I bring a peaceful and compassionate energy into the space because the clients safety and comfort is incredibly important to me. Finding the strength to come into the counseling space is a feat in itself, so encouragement goes a very long way in making my clients feel safe.
