In marital or relationship counseling, I work to assess the connection between both individuals and develop a plan of treatment best suited to their needs. During the first session, the couple will have a joint session to discuss goals, agendas, and expectations. Typically, the following sessions are individual to gain a deeper understanding of each person’s history, relational needs and concerns. After working through individual needs, we will return to joint sessions to integrate the needs of both into a positive relationship. The therapist and couple will work together to create solutions to these issues.
